Abdur-Rahim represented his country at the 1994 Junior World Championship Qualifying Tournament and in the 1995 Hoop Summit. In his second year at the NBA his scoring jumped to 22.3 ppg which ranked him sixth overall and second among small forwards, 37th in rebounding averaging 7.1 rebounds, third in free throws made (504), sixth in free throws attempted (640), 30th in field goal shooting percentage (.485) and was 38th in minutes played in the NBA.
